Woodlands Cemetery and Crematorium

Woodlands Cemetery and Crematorium was opened in 1984. Located on the Birmingham Road along side the M6 (just before Junction 4 on the north side) it is set in an  extensive woodland area. The grounds also contain an ancient Decoy pool.

The cemetery comprises of lawn graves, children graves and cremated remains graves (cremains) along with Remembrance Gardens for the scattering of ashes. 16 years after opening (in 2000), the main or original chapel was remodelled and modified to accommodate a Crematorium. The styling and architecture is sympathetic to the initial design. It is an intimate and peaceful setting for a Crematorium.

  • November to January: open from 9.00am - 4.15pm
  • February, March and October: open from 9.00am - 5.00pm
  • April to September: open from 9.00am - 6.00pm
  • Sundays and Bank Holidays: open from 10.00am and close at the same times as above.
  • Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day: open from 10.00am - 2.30pm
